Final exam target

How to use it

Enter your grade so far, the grade you want in the course, and how much the final exam counts. The calculator shows the percentage you must score on the final to reach your target.

Formula

Needed on final = (target − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight

Examples

Example: Current 82%, target 90%, final worth 30%. Needed = (90 − 82×0.7) ÷ 0.3 = (90 − 57.4) ÷ 0.3 = 108.7% — above 100, so an A is out of reach.

Example: Current 82%, target 85%, final worth 30%. Needed = (85 − 57.4) ÷ 0.3 = 92%.
