How to use it
College courses are usually made of weighted parts — homework, quizzes, labs, a midterm, and a final. Enter each item's percentage score and how much it counts (its weight). The calculator returns your overall course grade.
Formula
Course grade = Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weight)Examples
Example: Homework 90% (worth 20%), midterm 84% (worth 30%), final 88% (worth 50%). Grade = (90×0.2 + 84×0.3 + 88×0.5) ÷ 1 = (18 + 25.2 + 44) ÷ 1 = 87.2%.
Example: A straight 85% average in a course with a 75% passing bar earns a B and credit toward your degree.
