Semester GPA

Add each course in the semester with its grade and credit hours.

How to use it

Add every course you're taking this semester with its letter grade (or percentage) and credit hours. The calculator converts each grade to grade points, weights them by credits, and gives your semester GPA.

Formula

Semester GPA = Σ(grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ(credit hours)

Examples

Example: A 4-credit math course with an A (4.0) and a 3-credit English course with a B (3.0). GPA = (4.0×4 + 3.0×3) ÷ 7 = (16 + 9) ÷ 7 = 3.57.

Example: A 3-credit A− (3.7), a 4-credit B+ (3.3), and a 1-credit A (4.0). GPA = (11.1 + 13.2 + 4.0) ÷ 8 = 3.54.
