Add every course you're taking this semester with its letter grade (or percentage) and credit hours. The calculator converts each grade to grade points, weights them by credits, and gives your semester GPA.

Semester GPA = Σ(grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ(credit hours)Examples
Example: A 4-credit math course with an A (4.0) and a 3-credit English course with a B (3.0). GPA = (4.0×4 + 3.0×3) ÷ 7 = (16 + 9) ÷ 7 = 3.57.
Example: A 3-credit A− (3.7), a 4-credit B+ (3.3), and a 1-credit A (4.0). GPA = (11.1 + 13.2 + 4.0) ÷ 8 = 3.54.

What is a semester GPA?

How is semester GPA different from cumulative GPA?
Semester GPA covers a single term; cumulative GPA covers all terms you've completed.
Do +/− grades count in semester GPA?
Most colleges assign points for plus and minus grades, e.g. A− = 3.7 and B+ = 3.3.
