Enter the number of points you earned and the total points the test was worth. The calculator returns your percentage and the corresponding letter grade.
Formula
Test grade % = (Points earned ÷ Total points) × 100Examples
Example: You scored 42 out of 50. Grade = 42 ÷ 50 × 100 = 84% (a B).
Example: You scored 18 out of 20. Grade = 18 ÷ 20 × 100 = 90% (an A-).

How do I calculate a test grade?
Divide the points you earned by the total possible points and multiply by 100.
What letter grade is my score?
We use a standard US scale: 90+ = A range, 80–89 = B, 70–79 = C, 60–69 = D, below 60 = F.
Does this work for quizzes and exams?
