How to use it
Add each graded item with its score (%) and weight. The calculator computes your weighted average and shows your letter grade.
Formula
Grade = Σ(weight × score) ÷ Σ(weight)Examples
Example: Homework 85% (weight 30), quiz 90% (weight 20), exam 78% (weight 50). Grade = (30×85 + 20×90 + 50×78) ÷ 100 = 82.5%.
Equal weights: Three tests: 80, 90, 85, equal weight. Grade = (80 + 90 + 85) ÷ 3 = 85%.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my grade?
Multiply each score by its weight, add them up, then divide by the total weight. That's your weighted average grade.
What letter grade is my percentage?
A common scale: 90+ = A, 80–89 = B, 70–79 = C, 60–69 = D, below 60 = F.
What if my assignments aren't weighted?
Enter equal weights (or use a simple average) — the result is your unweighted average.
Is a grade calculator accurate?
Yes — it's simple arithmetic. Just make sure the weights match your syllabus.
