College GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ(credits)Examples
Example: 4 courses: A (4.0, 3cr), B+ (3.3, 3cr), C (2.0, 4cr), A- (3.7, 2cr). Points = 12 + 9.9 + 8 + 7.4 = 37.3; credits = 12; GPA = 3.11.
Example: A (4.0, 3cr) and B (3.0, 3cr). GPA = (12 + 9) ÷ 6 = 3.5.

Is college GPA always on a 4.0 scale?
Most US colleges use 4.0. Some use 4.3 or 5.0 — check your institution's policy.
Do pass/fail courses count?
Typically no — pass/fail courses usually don't affect GPA.
